China debuts
Sunday 22 May 2011

Anderszewski heads to the People's Republic of China this week to make recital debuts in Shanghai and Beijing (25 & 28 May).

The halls he will perform in are both extraordinary for different reasons. The Shanghai Concert Hall - an historic, colonial-style building from the 1930s - was preserved and winched to a new location just a few years ago. Conversely, the Beijing recital will take place at the city's ultra-modern National Center for the Performing Arts. Designed by French architect Paul Andreu, it is a beautifully-illuminated titanium dome and should make an inspiring setting for Anderszewski's other-worldly Bach.
