Anderszewski is to the present generation of Bach interpreters what Glenn Gould was to his: by turns brilliant and thoughtful, a formidable technician equipped with a razor-sharp musical intellect.
The sarabandes carried a grave, stately beauty, the courantes impeccably crisp articulation. His voicings were so acute that the ear had no trouble sorting out each singing line from the surrounding contrapuntal material. His ornamentation, too, was a marvel of imagination, with nothing played the same way twice.
